Privacy Policy
Yolyc · Effective June 25, 2026
Yolyc operates an online business directory at https://golyc.com/. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we use and share it, and the rights you have over your data. Please read it carefully before using our website or services.
This policy applies to all visitors, registered users, business owners who claim or manage listings, and any other individuals who interact with Yolyc’s website or services. It does not apply to third-party websites or companies listed in our directory — they have their own privacy practices.
If you have questions, contact us at info@yolyc.com.
1. Data Controller
For the purposes of applicable data protection laws, Yolyc is the data controller of personal information collected through the website, except where otherwise stated.
Data Controller:
Yolyc
Email: info@yolyc.com
Website: https://golyc.com/
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide Directly
We collect information you give us when you:
- Create an account — name, email address, and password.
- Claim or manage a business listing — company name, address, phone number, website URL, business category, description, and other business-related information. Information submitted for business listings may be publicly displayed as part of the Yolyc directory and may be visible to visitors and search engines.
- Subscribe to a paid plan — billing contact details. Payment card data is processed directly by Paddle (our payment processor) and is never stored on our servers.
- Submit a review — your display name, star rating, and written review text.
- Reviews and ratings submitted by users may be publicly displayed on Yolyc together with the reviewer’s chosen display name.
- Submit a lead enquiry form — name, email address, phone number (optional), and message. This information is forwarded to the business you are contacting.
- Contact us — any information included in your message to our support team.
- Business listing information submitted to Yolyc, including company name, address, phone number, website, categories, and business descriptions, may be publicly displayed as part of the directory.
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
When you visit Yolyc, our servers and third-party tools automatically collect:
- IP address and approximate geographic location (country, region, city).
- Browser type, version, and language.
- Device type and operating system.
- Pages visited, time spent, links clicked, and referring URL.
- Cookies and similar tracking identifiers (see Section 4).
2.3 Information from Third Parties
We may receive information about you from:
- Payment processors (Paddle) — transaction status, subscription plan, and billing country, used to manage your subscription.
- Analytics providers, such as Google Analytics 4, may collect information regarding website usage, device information, and interactions with the site. We use this information in aggregated form to understand visitor behaviour, improve our services, and measure website performance.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide and maintain the Yolyc directory and associated services.
- Create and manage your account and business listings.
- Process subscription payments and manage billing through Paddle.
- Forward lead enquiry form submissions to the relevant business owner.
- Send transactional emails (account confirmation, password reset, subscription receipts, new lead notifications).
- Analyse traffic and usage patterns to improve the site.
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or unauthorised access.
- Respond to support requests and communications.
- Comply with applicable legal obligations.
- We may use aggregated and non-identifiable information to analyse trends, measure directory performance, and improve advertising or promotional activities. Aggregated information does not identify individual users.
- We may use automated systems to detect spam, fraudulent activity, suspicious login attempts, abuse of lead forms, or other activity that may threaten the security of the platform.
We do not use your personal information for automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects without your consent.
4. Legal Basis for Processing (EEA, UK, and Switzerland)
If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we process your personal data on the following legal bases:
- Contract performance — processing necessary to provide the services you have signed up for (e.g. managing your listing, processing your subscription).
- Legitimate interests — fraud prevention, security, analytics, and improving our services, where these interests are not overridden by your rights.
- Consent — where you have given explicit consent, such as when submitting a lead enquiry form or accepting non-essential cookies.
- Legal obligation — where processing is required to comply with applicable law.
5. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
Yolyc uses cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes:
- Essential cookies — required for the site to function (e.g. login sessions, CSRF protection). These cannot be disabled.
- Analytics cookies — used to understand how visitors use the site (e.g. Google Analytics). These are set only with your consent where required by law.
- Preference cookies — used to remember your settings and preferences.
You can control non-essential cookies through our cookie consent banner or via your browser settings. Disabling analytics cookies will not affect your ability to use the site.
6. Lead Enquiry Forms
Enterprise business listings on Yolyc display a contact form that allows visitors to send an enquiry directly to the business owner. When you submit this form:
- Your name, email address, optional phone number, and message are forwarded to the business you are contacting.
- You will be asked to give explicit consent before your details are shared.
- Yolyc acts as an intermediary only. Once forwarded, the business receives your details and may contact you directly.
- The business receiving your enquiry is an independent third party and is solely responsible for how it handles your information after receipt. Yolyc is not responsible for their data practices.
- Withdrawal and deletion — you may request deletion of a lead enquiry record at any time by emailing info@yolyc.com. Note that we cannot require the receiving business to delete information already in their possession.
- Lead enquiry forms may not be used to send unlawful, abusive, unsolicited, or spam communications. Yolyc reserves the right to block or remove enquiries that violate this policy.
7. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share it only in the following circumstances:
- Business owners (via lead forms) — when you submit a lead enquiry form, your contact details are shared with the business you are contacting (see Section 5).
- Service providers — we share data with trusted vendors who process it on our behalf, including Paddle (payments), Google Analytics (analytics), and our hosting provider. These vendors are contractually bound to protect your data and may not use it for their own purposes.
- Legal requirements — we may disclose information when required by law, court order, or governmental authority, or where necessary to protect the rights, safety, or property of Yolyc or others.
- Business transfers — in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via email or a prominent notice on our website before your data is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
8. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as necessary to provide our services and meet our legal obligations:
- Account data is retained for the duration of your account and deleted within 90 days of account closure upon request.
- Business listing data is retained while the listing is active and for 12 months after it is removed.
- Lead enquiry records are retained for 24 months and may be deleted on request.
- Transaction and billing records are retained for 7 years to comply with tax and accounting obligations.
- Server logs are retained for 90 days.
You can request deletion of your personal data at any time by emailing info@yolyc.com. Some data may be retained where we have a legitimate legal obligation to do so.
9. Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information, including:
- TLS/SSL encryption for all data in transit.
- Appropriate encryption and security measures are used to protect sensitive information where applicable.
- Access controls limiting data access to authorised personnel only.
- Regular security monitoring and vulnerability assessments.
No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure. While we take reasonable steps to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security. In the event of a data breach that affects your rights or freedoms, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by applicable law.
10. International Data Transfers
Yolyc is operated from Tunisia. Personal information collected through our website may be processed in Tunisia and in other countries where our service providers, partners, or infrastructure providers operate.
As a result, your information may be transferred to, stored, or processed in countries that may have data protection laws different from those in your country of residence.
Where required by applicable law, Yolyc takes reasonable steps to ensure that international transfers of personal data are protected through appropriate safeguards. For users located in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, these safeguards may include Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission, the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, or other legally recognised transfer mechanisms.
By using Yolyc, you acknowledge that your information may be transferred to and processed in countries outside your jurisdiction in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
